The Celtic Manor Resort & Spa
Newport, Wales
We were absolutely delighted to be invited to stay at Celtic Manor, a gorgeous countryside escape nestled within 2,000 acres of stunning parkland in the heart of the UK. With swimming pools, restaurants, a spa and an impressive range of activities on offer, there really is something for everyone.
The first thing that caught our attention was the beautiful lobby. It was incredibly spacious, with soaring ceilings and so many little details to take in. After checking in, we headed up to the 10th floor to discover our home for the night: the Chairman Suite.
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a room quite so spacious. The suite featured a separate dining room, a huge living area, outdoor seating, a beautiful marble bathroom and steps leading down into the bedroom, which overlooked the grounds. It felt more like a luxury apartment than a hotel room!
After settling in, we made full use of the hotel robes and wandered down to the spa, where we were booked in for relaxing facials. The treatment rooms were incredibly calming, and the facials used all ELEMIS products. My skin has genuinely never felt so soft!
We then spent a few blissful hours enjoying the rest of the spa facilities, including the hot tub, sauna and steam room. It really was the perfect place to switch off and unwind. If you’re looking for a truly peaceful experience, I’d recommend visiting a little later in the day or during the adults-only timings.
Before long, it was time to head back to the suite and get ready for dinner. We took a lovely walk over to the Manor side of the hotel, where we were so excited to try PAD, the Asian restaurant.
We started with a couple of delicious cocktails before ordering a selection of starters to share, and every dish was absolutely divine. For our mains, we went for the chicken and prawn Pad Thai and sweet and sour chicken, both of which were just as delicious as we’d hoped. We finished the meal with a gorgeous trio of mini desserts before making our way back to the room in a very happy, and very full, food coma!
The following morning, we were up bright and early to make the most of the hotel gym. It had everything you could need, with plenty of modern equipment and beautiful views overlooking the grounds.
After working up an appetite, we headed down to the Olive Tree to enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast. The choice was endless, with everything from yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit to a full English breakfast, pastries, pancakes and so much more. The perfect way to start your day!
One of the things we loved most about this resort was the huge variety of activities available. It makes it such a great option for families visiting with children, but there’s plenty to enjoy for adults too. We were kindly invited to try our hand at axe throwing, something neither of us had ever done before! It was such a fun experience and the perfect way to have a laugh and spend some quality time together before checking out.
If you’re thinking of treating yourself to a little getaway, they currently have some fantastic last-minute offers available, with stays from just £132 per couple! Perfect for a spontaneous break, a relaxing escape or just some quality time away together. Must be booked by 31st August, so don’t leave it too late!
We honestly had the most amazing stay at Celtic Manor. It was the perfect balance of relaxation, incredible food, beautiful surroundings and plenty to keep you entertained. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing spa escape, a fun-filled family break or simply somewhere luxurious to switch off for a few days, Celtic Manor really does have it all.
